On Saturday (September 6, 2025) multiple undersea submarine cables in the Red Sea had been severed, causing widespread internet disruptions across parts of Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The incident serves as a stark reminder: the link that serves as global digital arteries. Cloud users relying on Microsoft Azure are experiencing, or may soon experience, increased latency and potential slowdowns, thanks to damage to critical underwater fiber optic cables in the Red Sea. I checked online and it said VDSL can have potential for upload, so I accepted and got a VDSL with them.
