The EDID doesn't matter in a KVM, however if it doesn't emulate the EDID of the monitor connected to it, then when the KVM switches away from the monitor, the OS will treat it as a disconnect. iNet KVM is already suitable for most scenarios and usually does not need to be modified. If you have ever used a KVM switch and experienced long black screens, windows moving to the wrong monitor, refresh rates being reset, or your computer suddenly "forgetting" the original display layout after switching, the issue may not necessarily be caused by the monitor or the computer itself. Have you tried some different vga cables? check your cabling to ensure that there is proper continuity on the designated ground pins (and other pins) in the connectors. However, when I plug the monitor to the computer through a Kceve 4K KVM switch, I can only get up to 1920 x 1080.
